Ruth Kohlschreiber (1920-2016) was born to Walter and Tina Kohlschreiber in St. Louis, MO. Ruth completed nurses training at Topeka’s Jane C. Stormont Hospital in 1941. She served in the Army from 1943 to 1946, first at the Army Nurse Corps in Clinton, IA, then at the 91st General Hospital in Oxford England. She made many lifelong friends in the service. After the war she married Edwin Vogel in 1952 and raised three children. She continued her nursing career until she retired in 1981.
