My military service shaped my entire life! I did Basic Training at Ft. McClellan, AL in June 1964 at 19 in the Women's Army Corps. As a noncombatant, I had Medical Corpsman training at Ft. Sam Houston, TX, then received OJT at Ft. Meade Army Hospital before shipping to Okinawa, Camp Kuwae Army Hospital, where I met my husband. I was then assigned to Sandia Base Army Hospital, NM and was discharged on 2/15/67, weeks after getting married. It was without a doubt my most informative years.
